LEARNING SUPPORT TEAMS
Each campus has a Learning Support Team that typically comprise of: Senior Campus Executive, School Counsellors, Head Teacher Welfare, Head Teacher Support, Year Advisers and teachers. These teams meet regularly to discuss student issues and can plan support, guidance, refer students for counselling, as well as liaise with appropriate personnel from outside agencies for additional support as required.
LEARNING AND SUPPORT TEACHERS
The Learning and Support teachers are available to provide additional help to those students who need learning assistance. The Learning and Support Teachers can recommend students for Life Skills courses and organise support for students who have special provisions for exams and assessment tasks.
A school Counsellor is available for students and parents for individual and family counselling and to provide specialised assistance to school staff. Referrals are taken from the students themselves, other students, parents and school staff.
Both Westport and Port Macquarie Campuses have Year Advisers appointed to each individual year group. The adviser is responsible for student welfare. This person may be approached by either students or parents to discuss any difficulties affecting school performance or to seek guidance. Their role is essentially one of a pastoral care nature.
