Don't let the small stature of Leilani fool you. This pocket rocket is a highly talented athlete who has excelled at the highest level at State Carnivals three times during Semester one.

Between attending classes and completing school assignments, Year 10 student Leilani Grainger can be found competing in many sports.

Leilani excels at touch football and has incredible vision and skills. You will see her alongside her teammates performing on the field with the utmost speed, and ease.

She has represented the Combined High School Championships (CHS) at both Under 15 and Open levels. Both teams made the Semi-finals, narrowly losing after defeating some Sydney based teams in the competition.

Leilani excels at Basketball. She was an integral member of the Open North Coast team at the State Carnival modelling excellence at the event.

When asked what do you like about sports Leilani said, “I like everything, the whole game.”

Her Sports Academy teachers describe her as very lovely with a thirst for learning and self-discipline who continually looks to improve her already gifted talents.

To compete at three State Carnivals in one Semester is a remarkable achievement from an outstanding athlete and conscientious student.

Leilani is part of the Sports Academy at Hastings Secondary College.
